Beltino Toad is the Research Director for the Cornerian Army and the father of Slippy Toad. He was a key scientist during the Aparoid Invasion, as he developed the Apoptosis Virus that destroyed the Aparoid Queen and, in turn, the Aparoid entity.

Biography

Aparoid Invasion

Beltino was the Research Director of the Cornerian Defense Force at the time of the Aparoid Invasion. After Team Star Fox collected the Core Memory from the Moth Aparoid on Fortuna, Beltino asked for them to send it to him. He did the same with the Pigma Core Memory. After analyzing them, he located the Aparoid's weakness to Apoptosis, a virus that causes the cells to destroy themselves. He began working on the virus just as Corneria fell under invasion by the Aparoids.

During the invasion, he was on the Orbital Gate, which housed a Zypher Ring needed to get to the Aparoid Homeworld. The remainder of the Cornerian Defense Force and Team Star Fox defended the ring from attack long enough for Beltino to get the virus working. The Aparoid assault was then completely stopped and forced back, which allowed the Zypher Ring to be activated and the Invasion of the Aparoid Homeworld to commence.
