The Awesome Black Hole, or "Black Hole" as it is more commonly known as, is a stage in the Super Nintendo Entertainment System game Star Fox. It is a secret warp area that must be accessed in a specific manner.

History

"The Gravity Bomb": 1992 Star Fox Comic

Andross, while working for the Cornerian Army, had developed once a Gravity Bomb that would effectively collapse a black hole where it was detonated. Fox McCloud Senior volunteered to go out alone and test the bomb. He took his ship into an asteroid belt outside of Corneria. Fitting in with Andross' plan, the bomb detonated while the ship McCloud Sr. was using accelerated at critical velocity. McCloud Sr., his ship, and part of the asteroid belt were sucked into the Black Hole. McCloud Sr. was never heard from again.

Star Fox (SNES)

Team Star Fox, while attempting to stop the Rock Crusher, was sucked into a warp zone, which transported them all into the Black Hole. They ended up taking one of the warps out: one lead to Venom directly, one lead to Fortuna, and one lead to Sector Z.
