Meteor was a floating space station that was meant to double as an amusement park known as "Meteor Land." However, before it could be completed, Andross commandeered it and reformed it into a munitions depot, sending it behind the space armada en route to Corneria. It was intercepted by Team Star Fox on its way to Corneria after they crippled the space armada.

History

Lylat Wars (Star Fox)

Andross recreated the Meteor into a munitions carrier before the Lylat Wars began. In a bid to move on and take Corneria, he launched the Meteor behind his main space fleet. Headed by the Rock Crusher, meant to break a hole through the asteroids surrounding Corneria, it was meant to be a blitz that would have sealed the Lylat Wars end very quickly.

The Cornerians retalliated by hiring Team Star Fox, headed by Fox McCloud, however, to stop the attack. Flying the new experimental SFX Arwing fighters, they counterattacked the attacking force. After destroying the Rock Crusher, they directly attacked the stalled space armada, destroying several key components within it and destroying Andross' main tactical advantage. Meteor was still careening towards Corneria.

Star Fox intercepted it and launched a suprise attack on its surface. The base defenses had little time to prepare and the team was able to decimate the defenses and the arsenal. The "sentinel" of the base, the Dancing Insector, attempted to defeat the team at the last second, but it was defeated. Andross' assault had been stalled.
