| Slippy Toad is the son of Research Director, Beltino Toad. Slippy is the technician of the Star Fox Team whom involves spending time repairing the Great Fox and the Arwings. His experience in technology has allowed him to develop the Blue Marine, a single manned battle submarine used on Aquas during the Lylat Wars. His skills as a technician prove a great asset and irreplaceable to the team.
During the Lylat Wars Slippy provided Star Fox with data analysis of the Venomian Lieutenants and other opponents. This proved to be of great help to the team, however Slippy proved to be quite a liability. He usually had enemies on his tail, which then caused Fox to help him by shooting the enemies down. This happened most of the time in the wars. This is best exemplified with his situation on Titania. While fighting the Spyborg in Sector X, Slippy darted out in front of Fox to try and attack it directly. However, the Spyborg attacked Slippy heavily and extremely damaged his Arwing, sending him falling to the planet below. Fox, not wanting to leave Slippy down on the planet to die, took a Landmaster down to the surface to rescue him. Fox eventually saved Slippy and killed the Gora that was holding him captive. He still managed to survive and greatly help the team out, however, through scanning the main opponents on the planets.
At the time of the Saurian Incident, Team Star Fox was in bad shape. Without years of employment, their vehicles had gone mostly into disrepair. Slippy ended up jerry-rigging most of the vehicles to stay together, however he also was forced to sell most of the equipment on their Arwings and Landmasters that could be sold for a good price, such as the storage bays for Smart Bombs etcetera. Slippy was not as big of a help on Sauria, since Fox decided to go to the surface alone. If Fox contacted Slippy, however, he would give him some help on how to overcome some of the tasks if Fox needed some help with them. He also sent down Fox's Hi-Def Display Device, but the Shopkeeper got to them before Fox did, and Fox was forced to buy them for 20 Scarabs.
Slippy resumed active flight by the time of the Aparoid Invasion. He and the rest of Team Star Fox, now with Peppy supplanted by Krystal, helped a Cornerian offensive against a Venomian Rebellion, lead by Andrew Oikonny. Just as Oikonny was defeated, however, a Moth Aparoid destroyed his ship and attacked Star Fox. Although this Aparoid was killed, it was the beginning of a larger battle to come. Slippy both times, just as he did in the Lylat Wars, preformed the shield analysis of the main opponents of the team. Slippy usually provided aerial assistance to Fox when he was on the ground fighting on-foot or in one of the team's new Landmasters. However, during the Raid on the Hideout in the Sargasso Region, Slippy went on-foot to directly help Fox. He stayed over in a plateu to the upper level of the base, fighting the recurring Star Wolf-hired ruffians. Fox every now and then did go to help Slippy. Once Team Star Wolf showed up in a counterattack against the team [who was, at the time out in space, Falco and Krystal], Fox went to help the two, leaving Slippy to take full control of the hideout. He accomplished this while Team Star Wolf was defeated.
Slippy was the first member of Star Fox to come back and aid Fox in repelling the invasion of the Anglars. He helped defeating the attack on Corneria and attacks on the rest of the Lylat System. (It is unknown where he and the rest of the team ended up at the end of Star Fox: Command, however, since a canon ending has not been defined.) |
