Star Fox is a game developed by Argonaut Software and released by Nintendo for their Super Nintendo Entertainment System in the US and the Super Famicom in Japan. It was released on March 1st, 1993. It is notable for being the first home video game with use of 3-D graphics, powered by the use of the SuperFX Chip embedded in the cartridge. The game was a huge success, with pre-orders reaching 1,700,000, with 1,000,000 shipped on the release weekend, a record at the time.
