The comics are for the most part not considered canon with the game series. They are not made by the same people and don't follow a continuing storyline.

Nintendo Power 1992 Comic

*The matrial used in this page is a combination of the Nintendo Power 1992 Star Fox comic, it has no relations to the Star Fox series unless mentioned.

It all started an estimated time 20 years before the events of Star Fox 64. Fox McCloud (later on changed his maden name to James) was an ace pilot for the Cornerian Army and head of the R&D "Space Dynamics" testing top of the line equipment and vehicles. He and his wife "Vixy Reinard" were an inseperable couple after first meeting in the Academy and had a son who they named "Fox" after his father. Roughly five years later a bomb was planted in James McCloud's car by a scientist named Andross in an attempt to kill her husband who was in a jealous rage with Vixy Reinard before she was married. Consequently it was Vixy who went in James's car and was killed instantly leaving James to take care of his son on his own. Fox was only ten years of age when his mother died. James hoped that Fox would one day fall in his father's footsteps.

Before Andross was emperor of the Venom, he was once a scientist in the R&D for the Cornerian army. He was a brilliant scientist working for Corneria. Although his intentions are pure and beneficial, his lust for power and revenge drives him to the brink of madness. He was banished to the planet Venom after his tragic experiments almost cost the exist of their own system and prosecuted for the murder of Vixy Rienard. After living on Venom he finds out that this planet was inhabited by dull lizards who lived in the ruins of a lost civilization. His power grew once more controlling the weak minded Venomians building an army. The Lylat Wars has begun.

As Fox got older he joined the Cornerian academy to be a fighter pilot like his father, and excelled at the top of his class through countless training leaving his father just as proud. When Fox was roughly around 15 years of age he met Falco, a former gang member with enough street savvy to fill and encyclopedia. He wanted to fly and Fox showed him the way cleaning up his act and earned his wings.
