Vixy Reinard was the mother of Fox McCloud and the wife to James McCloud. She was also Andross' love interest, which proved to be fatal for her.

Biography

Pre-Lylat Wars (Star Fox 1992 Comic)

In the non-canon 1992 Star Fox Comic, Vixy and James met in the service. In the years that followed, their feelings for each other became more than they could bare. Eventually, they had a son, born 18 years prior Lylat Wars; they named their son after James' proper name, Fox.

Andross also proved to have an affinity with Vixy. It became so strong that he planned to kill James so that Vixy would turn to him. This plan became a plot to kill James via a car bomb.

The plot went into motion 10 years after Fox's birth. However, due to unforseen events, Vixy was in the car when the bomb exploded, killing her instantaneously. Andross was devastated by the unplanned consequence, and soon proceeded to destroy James. James volunteered to test a prototype Gravity Bomb for the Cornerian Army. Andross tampered with his own creation, setting it to explode while James' ship was inside the Asteroid Belt. The explosion formed an extremely large black hole, swallowing up half the belt, James' ship, and James himself. Andross was then exiled soon afterwards.
