Zoness is a mainly oceanic planet of the Lylat System. It used to be a large vacation center for the galaxy, but in the Lylat Wars, Andross' bio-weapon polluted the seas, turning it into a toxic waste dump and mutating the once majestic sea creatures. The Venomian Army also used it as a supply base. Once the Venomian Army was defeated, the Cornerian government turned their attention to reversing the damage Andross had wrought. It is also the proported home of Falco Lombardi.

History

Pre-Lylat Wars

Zoness had once been a popular vacation spot in the Lylat System. People would come to the system to watch the wildlife of the planet. This is also the location where, supposedly, Falco Lombardi was born.

Lylat Wars

Andross, when beginning his take-over of the Lylat System, directly attacked Zoness. Using the submarine ship Sarumarine, Andross polluted the planet with toxic waste. This act had incomparable consquences on the wildlife; immediately, everything began to mutate horrifically. Even the food for the wildlife mutated.

Shortly after gaining a good foothold on the now-toxic planet, the Venomian Army began building a supply base on it. Team Star Fox took great interest in the base and planned a sneak attack on it.

The team's Arwings came in low to the water in an effort to maintain the element of surprise. Although the army had lots of Radar Buoys stationed throughout the planet, Fox McCloud managed to destroy them all without being noticed on the outskirts of the base. This goes without saying they had a degree of help; Katt Monroe showed up to help the team and, more specifically, Falco. The team, however, was attacked by some of the life on the planet, which had grown hostile to many people. Each time they showed up, the team gunned them down.

Once through raiding the base, Star Fox came across the Sarumarine, the reason of the pollution. Immediately, its captain began using it to attack Fox, who began systematically destroying it using Smart Bombs. Each element began falling apart: the cannons, the crane, then the main unit, which exploded violently and killed the captain. The team then moved onward.

Aparoid Invasion

Although Zoness itself was not a key element in the Aparoid Invasion, there was going to be a conference on Corneria as to how to repair the damage done to the planet. It was called the "Zoness Water Quality Enviornmental Conference." This never took place due to the Aparoids invading Corneria City.
